Industrial Shutter Options
Our HVP75 Industrial shutter is a strong roller door for frequent and heavy-duty use, available in the configurations below. The curtain is made from individual lath, so a roller shutter engineer can easily replace individual sections should they become damaged - keeping it economical to maintain over its working life. We fit the larger doors with a powerful external block motor as standard; smaller industrial roller doors can have a more economic hand-chain instead.
Single-skin steel industrial shutters
The standard workhorse: robust, cost-effective, and suited to the majority of industrial applications where thermal performance is not a priority.
Insulated industrial roller shutters
Our HVP75 Industrial is also available as an insulated roller door, incorporating a foam-filled lath construction that significantly reduces heat transfer. Appropriate for cold stores, temperature-controlled environments, food production, and facilities where energy costs are a material concern.
High-speed roller doors
Available for applications requiring rapid cycling - where a standard shutter's open/close speed creates operational bottlenecks or creates a risk of collision with moving plant.
Wicket doors
Can be incorporated into industrial shutters to allow pedestrian access without opening the full shutter - practical for high-frequency personnel movement in facilities where the main shutter remains closed for security or thermal reasons.
All industrial shutters are available in electric operation with a range of control options including push-button, loop detection for vehicle-activated opening, remote control, and BMS integration.
Sectional Overhead Doors
Instead of rolling up on itself, a Cobra sectional overhead door slides up and over between two guiderails, using 40mm thick foam panels that grip into each other when the door closes. Our sectional doors insulate better than current building regulations and, because they leave the opening completely free, they're a highly practical choice for goods doors in warehouses, factories and storage areas.

Key Specification Considerations
Getting the specification right for an industrial shutter is more involved than for a commercial one. We work through the following with every client during the survey:
Opening dimensions
Industrial openings are often non-standard. We manufacture to exact dimensions - there is no "close enough" when a 2mm clearance gap compromises a temperature-controlled environment.
Cycle frequency
A shutter operated 20 times a day needs a different specification from one operated 200 times a day. Motor duty ratings, guide rail construction, and lath gauge all scale with use.
Wind loading
Large industrial openings on exposed sites require shutters specified to the correct wind load category. We calculate this as standard.
Headroom and side clearance
Industrial structures don't always offer the clearance a standard shutter assumes. We survey for barrel diameter, motor position, and guide rail depth as part of every visit.

We manufacture to bespoke dimensions. For very large openings where a single-barrel shutter is not practical, we can supply twin-barrel configurations or recommend alternative solutions such as sectional overhead doors.

Yes, in most cases. We plan installations to minimise disruption - often working out of hours or in sections. We discuss this in detail at survey stage.
