If the retail premises front onto an area with public access night and day, security becomes a crucial factor.

If the shop is within a shopping centre or mall with public access limited to trading hours only, security is normally a smaller concern.

Product visibility also important

For shop shutters, product visibility plays an important role. It can be very valuable to have goods on display outside a shop's opening hours.

Retail security grilles give excellent visibility

Security grilles give a very high level of visibility, but at the cost of openness. A chainlink roller grille offers excellent product visibility but is best fitted behind glass or doors.

An Armourshield Grille fitted externally offers a higher degree of security due to its all steel construction but is still best fitted internally behind glass.

Retail security shutters for increased security

Viewguard and Screenguard shutters offer a high level of security and are suitable for both internal and external installation. The Viewguard is especially good on shops, because it gives excellent see through visibility when the display is suitably back-lit.

The K90 Aluminium roller shutter and Facade transparent roller shutter can be fitted internally or externally and both offer a high level of security protection.

Facade shutters combine the best of two worlds: made from virtually unbreakable polycarbonate panels they are exceptionally strong while giving a lot of visibility.
